MARITIME LAW
Our maritime law experience includes:
- Advising and representing a German trading company in a shipping dispute against a Slovenian freight forwarding agent and an international container shipping company regarding shipping damage claims. Claims arose from a shipment of food products from Egypt to the Slovenian port of Koper. EU, Slovenian, German, and English law applied.
- Representing a Swiss trading company in litigation before Slovenian courts regarding an international transport matter, including maritime transport.
- Advising an international company on a high value yacht construction and purchase, including yacht finance and insurance.
- Consulting a Latvian transport company regarding a temporary court order on the ban of the alienation, encumbrance, or disposal of a ship owned by a Turkish company in debt, the stoppage of the ship in the Slovenian port of Koper, and the custody of the ship as security for its pecuniary claim.
